My cover illustration of the Tom Neal story for Palm Springs Life Magazine. Neil—a disgraced actor best known for his role in the excellent “Detour” (1945)—ended up living an existence that mirrored a film noir plot after falling from Hollywood grace, and getting convicted and imprisoned for involuntary manslaughter in the case of his ex-wife Gale Bennett’s death.
